hi,
i just bought a evinrude lark 1973 50hp outboard (model 50373 R) and i wonder if the lower unit
will fit an evinrude 1981 50hp long shaft (20") electric start, mechanical shift.
also, any ideas where to find the specs for this model- the `73 evinrude lark model 50373 R - any links or something?
thanks.

Make sure the LU shift the same. The 73 lark will be in reverse when the shift rod is up. The 76 55 hp, for example has the shift rod down when in reverse.
Watch out for LU that shift backwards from your control box and motor setup.

you have to change the complete shift linkage from the donor motor to the survivor. not and easy job.
