I have a 1999 Johnson 50 that I run on a relatively light on a 16 foot fiberglass hull boat. It will run about 25 mph (GPS speed) with a 17 pitch prop.
I picked up a 15 pitch prop at a used parts dealer the other day for and he warned against over reving the motor. Can I run the 15P safely as long as I monitor the revs?
Advice and opinions are appreciated.
