mariner lower unit swap

i have a 1998 75 h. mariner very little top end. Can anyone tell me if or can i get a bigger lower unit to fit it, if it will help and what size to get? thanks to anyone. i am mechanicaly inclined so i can work on it, just dont know about changing one out. thanks

you can swap it but you will have to put the same one back

Hi,

No, you can not put a bigger lower unit on.
Yes, you can swap it for one the same size and gear ratio.
You have to run what you have size wise.
You can try different props, trim settings, ect.
It would be helpfull to know what boat you have and what pitch prop
you are running. Also what RPM do you turn at WOT.
