I'm ready to take the outboard off of my boat and was wondering if it would be okay to just lift it off and lay it on its side on a couple of pallets for awhile unitl I got the transom work done.

If its the motor in your link then yes,

The only thing you may want to watch out for is if there's still any water in the lower unit (water pump) and you raise the lower unit higher than the power head it is possible for water to get into it. Not a good thing.

Also, if the carb has a bowl, it is best to ley it carb down so as to not flood the engine.
