Livewell/bait Well

I have a Lund which I use in the rivers. Never used my wells, because I use lures. Took my boat to SunSet Beach last year and my son decided to turn them on. While he used them for his bait , he informed me that he left them on all night(aireator) and the end of next day they just did not work any longer. So I check everything and I think he turn some knobs in the well and just cann't get them working. Any suggestion will be check out.
P.S. If you have a fresh water boat and would like to take it in the ocean----check out Woody Wax-----my boat never looks like it left the rivers. thanks
