Re: Yamaha Enduro 25 HP

I purchased a used yamaha and discovered the same thing. Not wanting to take any chances I called Yamaha USA and asked them if they could tell me what ratio an engine required and they aked for the model#, serial# and looked it up and sure enough it was 100/1 Since then I ussually mix a little extra just to be safe but 50/1 creates alot of oil burn off or blow by whatever you would call it (real smokey).

Should i switch to 100:1 instead of the 50:1 I'm currently using??

always? even if one buys an engine new?
always always 50:1 ?

alright..so why the debate about 100:1 and 50:1 ?
why do some say 100:1 and others 50:1 (again, i use 50:1)

If you buy yamalube you will notice this suff looks like melted tar. I believe it is a really good oil and does protect the engine better than the other brands (but it aint cheap). When I run a 50/1 in my c40 it really is a waist of oil furthermore think about how much carbon will build up on your rings and on the top of the pistons using double the oil.

Re: Yamaha Enduro 25 HP

see...this is what i mean..

now i see form someone 50:1
and you are then suggesting 100:1

so which one is the correct one? 50/1 or 100/1 ?

Ok let me put it this way ....... less oil ... more wear & tear ... so the more wear & tear, the shorter the life of the engine, the shorter the life of the engine, the quicker for yamaha before you buy a new one, when you buy a new one, yamaha makes more money .... makes sense?

Iv`e been running my 25hp enduro for the past 30 years on 100-1 and it has always run perfectly, never had any problems whatsoever, when you buy new they recommend you use 50-1 just for running in, then you change to 100-1 a lot of people I know have tried 50-1 and it tends to clog/oil up your engine, stick with the manufacturers recommendations and you won`t go wrong, (Yamaha made them so they should know) hope this helps.
