Hi Guys,

I'm sure this must have been asked or discussed before but I can't seem to find anything through the forums. My Dad purchased a used campion boat with a 125 hp mercury. It has the super annoying design of 2 cylinders kicking into 4 at about 2100 rpm. Needless to say this is unbelievably annoying and when I was driving it was impossible to gradually pull up a skier with out it "kicking" in. Also of course trying to keep a normal speed of 18-20 mph was impossible as it would either kick in and take off or die off a plane.

Is there any adjustment or setting or suggestions someone could give us please on what we should do? change the prop? etc. Or do we look at getting a "normal" motor.

Thanks for your help and I'm hoping someone must have a solution as I can't believe mecury would make such a disasterous motor configuration for pleasure boating and skiing.
