Default Kicker mount location on '87 Capri?

Hi again,
I need to mount a 6hp kicker on my 1987 Capri 14' (previously erroneously stated as 16'). I have identified the only really available location for it, but want to make certain that it's safe. The swimmers' ladder is on the starboard side, the transom isn't wide enough with the 50h Force, so the only logical/available spot is port side rear (with the red box). The lower portion (transom?) is unaccessible.

Can anyone verify that this is a safe place to mount?

Thanks

As long as the transom is structurally sound, that should be fine. Just make sure to use as large a backing plate as you can to distribute the load.

Thanks for the response...

I had to cut the base of the mount kit in half and remove 1 1/2" to clear the trim cap and still make the two angles work. I will post photos later today or tonight, as it all worked out quite nicely.

Had the boat out all day yesterday - the Johnson 6hp kicker (1990) ran for 11 hours on 3 gallons of gas after decarbing all day saturday. My buddy caught more fish than me (3 kokes and 1 cutthroat to my 1 koke), but it was a good day on the water.
