1973 1500 bad wire harness

I am working on a 73 merc 150 for my neighbor. I opened the control box and the wires are all corroded The whole harness is pretty much shoot except for about the last 3 feet to the motor are still in good shape. He only wants to use this motor for the rest of the summer till he can get his other one fixed. So I am trying to spend as little as possible. Any thought would be great full.

Butt splice new wires to the controls and battery. You need yellow, red, white, black, grey wires, plus the battey cables. You do not need the orange (salmon) wire.
