Hello all
Model is 175EXEOM.
Been chasing an idle issue around since last season. Just found the vapor separator float was stuck shut, fixed, seems to run much better now, however, I have disturbed the carb and timing settings during my tinkering.
I still need to synch the throttle plates, but I don't have the ignition analyzer called out in the manual to do the timing, tried two local shops to loan/rent, but they said no. I see some old posts refering to a procedure Joe Reeves put out in the FAQ section but can't find it - others that talked about making one - not sure if anyone has had success
Any recommendations short of buying one ? I'm replacing this motor over the winter, so hoping not to sink any more $'s than necessary to get it right for the summer.
At this point it idles well for long periods of time, but still has intermittent skips and burps - the carb mixture screws are out about 6 turns - thought that was a lot, manual calls for 3.
