Just wonder I boat at sartaoga lake some times and the seaweed there is very bad and in some spot very high, like going into the sandbar or by a couple of my buddies houses. I usally go very slow and trim up about half way. My questions is it bad to drive by this stuff? Sometimes you just have to when going place. I was thinking if that got caught in the impeller it could cause it to not work but not sure. Im a new boat owner, Just want to see if seaweed is a big no no for a boat or ok?

Every once in a while ....stop and reverse for a few feet. This should clear it off the outdrive. Keep an eye on your temperature gauge too...... when you get a chance make sure it is off everything and with the engine off and key removed inspect the outdrive.

Ayuh,.... You'll want to change your Impeller Annually,... If not Sooner...
An Alpha 1 will Smoke the Impeller in Secounds if run Dry,...
Blocking it with Weeds will do that...
Like Bob says,... Reversing often helps clear the drive,+ prop...
