I have a 2000 Evinrude 115HP Ficht engine that when it runs at high revs the check engine light comes on due to overcharge. All batteries and connections are good. A dealer told me I needed to send the EMM back to factory to have the voltage regulator repaired as this is included in the EMM. I was wondering if this was correct or if there was a way I could do this myself.
The fault code shows an overcharge, but before I send the EMM unit back, I would like to exhaust any other possible problems.
Thanks.
