Can anyone tell me what is going on with merc 50 hp 2 stroke reed issues? have 08 with less than 20 hours and has lost power , sputters and stalls. still under warranty. shop says merc 50's have had reed issues. may have even sucked reed into clynder. he suggests buying extended warranty. has anyone dealt with merc on this issue? what if shop repairs this damage and happens again? don't want to buy extended warranty to cover mercs issues. don't want to pay seatow. should I dump this motor while still new and upgrade? any help / info would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
