Porposing - 19 ft Ranger

I have a 19ft Ranger Chief, center console, and I originally had a 150 Optimax on it. I just upgraded to a 200 Optimax, but continue to have a problem with porposing, even with the motor trimmed full down. I have tried shuffling wieght around on the boat, but I can seem to get rid of it.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

The more weight you add to the back the more likely you will have porpoising.

Adding weight may help but it will also reduce fuel economy.

Look at trim tabs. They will also give you a host of other benefits. Search this site and you will have plenty to read.

Porpoising is one of the two moast common compaints.
