OMC 3.8 to 4.3 Chevy swap

Guys,
I have a wasted older 3.8 OMC (80'-82'??) I rebuilt an auto 4.3 Chevy (89) used my 3.8 heads and exterior components. The 3.8 crank end has a 3-1/2" diameter 6 bolt pattern and the newer 4.3 has 3" Diameter 6 bolt patter. Is there an adapter with a flywheel to use my origional coupler or do i have to find a new flywheel and coupler to slide into my OMC outdrive (SternDrive400/800) ?

I am condiering machining the 3" bolt pattern into my origional flywheel and coupler housing. Has anyone done this?
