Is it hard to change a impeller? I seen a video on youtube but they was changeing a merc. impeller is it close to the same. What do I need to buy I know the impeller but is there any gaskets or seals that I have to get to?

Dont just replace the impeller, replace the whole pump. The whole pump even comes with instructions for the pump replacement. Are you looking for instructions to remove the lower unit or just the pump?

You say get the whole water pump all I can find is the repair kit? I have never done it before so if you can tell me it would be helpful. Thank you

The water pump kit is BRP part No. 5001594 and is around 65.00 you can order a Sierra brand for less $$. I boats carries both I think.
Removing the l/u is pretty easy just 2 bolts each side w/9/16" heads remove the torque tab and the bolt underneath it, 1 other bolt just in front of it. Under the carbs is a 3/8" bolt that is for the shift shaft. a wobble extension works great for getting to it.
If you dont have a manual for your motor they are relatively cheap and you can order one with your water pump. If you really dont want to buy one many local library's have some manuals and you might get lucky and they will have one that covers your motor.

Hi, if your looking for a manual I have a factory 1988 CC Evinrude/Johnson manual thats for the V6 crossflows 150, 175 and 200's. The Cross flow V6's were quite similar through the years and there should be virtually no difference between a 1988 and 1989 CF V6. It's very helpful and descriptive for the do it yourselfer. I now have a 60 degree looper and no longer require it. Let me know if your interested if so I can give you my email and we can discuss this further?

Sorry, I had a blond moment there. the 200 V6 is a looper there for other than the information in regards to the lower unit and the trim and tilt they are radically different. Sorry to have wasted your time. I had already hit send on my previous message when I realized my error.
