Can somebody give some idea of what a 24ft toon weighs and how much tongue weight? I am thinking about one and trying to get some idea of what they weigh.

Re: Pontoon weight

Depending on furniture and everthing else on it can vary quite a bit, just looked in my Bennington catalog and a 22' weights 2300lbs with no motor and a 25' is 2600/ no motor, keep in mind they have alot of furniture on them so yours could be quite a bit less.

As for tounge weight don't know, I think the rule is 10% of trailer weight but not sure on that.

You will need a full size 1/2 ton truck to pull it.

Re: Pontoon weight

5150 is correct in that tongue weight should be 10 to 12 % of the gross weight. Most boat trailers are adjustable to obtain this percentage.

This percentage can go up if your tow vehicle can handle it, but never go below this weight. If the percentage is too low, the trailer is subject to fishtailing to the point it may overturn.

Re: Pontoon weight

Hey thanks alot. I have a 3/4 Powerstroke for a truck but with the camper I have to use an extended hitch so I have to be careful what I put behind it.
