We are currently restoring a Bayliner with new carpet .We used marine grade out door carpet with backing.
We also used Advanced Ad-hesive 383 Outdoor Carpet and & Turf Adhesive.

My question is.. anyone used this stuff before? its been 24 hours and it has not cured yet. Its still tacky as ever.
Anyone know the curing time of products like this and how long should it take for it to cure/set up.
We sanded floor and sides before applying this nasty stuff (consistency of peanutbutter).Rolled carpet for bubbles, creases ..and let it get tacky before putting carpet down. As per the instructions.
Checked website for info on drying time etc but cant find anything.

Also if that helps.. we are located in Tennessee and it was warm and a bit humid ( 80`s and maybe 45 % humity.

I know.. i know.. carpet isnt wanted in the boats but thats what we wanted :)

Temp & Humidity sound within range. No cure time on the label ?

Maybe if you called the store where you bought it ?

Re: Boat Carpet Adhesive question

What kind of backing on the carpet?

The MSDS sheet states "Not recommended for the carpets with vinyl and most urethane backings."

If it is the correct carpet I would just give it time....

Re: Boat Carpet Adhesive question

the curing time can depend on how thick the layer of adhesive is, i redid the bunk boards on the trailer and i took about 48 hours to harden. but i put it on too thick i think.
