Sea Chaser 175 RG offshore?

I have a 175 RG, with 90 hp Yamaha outboard.

How far offshore would you take it? My intention is no more than about 5 - 10 miles on 1 to 2-foot seas or less. Grouper fishing is calling me like a haunted voice lately.

i would say that would be a safe distance as long as you have a marine radio. communication is the key. looks like a great boat. good luck with the grouper

It has a marine radio, bottom finder with gps, and uscg equipment. My wife and I also passed USCG Aux. boaters safety class and recently passed the Boat US certification also. And too boot, as a Ham radio operator, I also am certified as a Skywarn observer for the National Weather Service.
