right impeller rotation

is this the correct way the impeller blades should face or should they face clockwise the normal direction of rotation?

Thats the way they should face, the shaft revolves clockwise when viewed from above.

However when new the vanes are straight, That one looks very very tired and long overdue for replacement.

When you fit the new one curl the blades back like that as you fit the pumphousing over it.

Spray the impeller and the inside of the housing down with WD-40 and turn it slowly clockwise as you place the housing on over the impeller. That will make the installation a breeze.:cool:

That impeller looks almost new to me, I enlarged and lightened the photo and it shows no wear or cracks. There is also no wear on the impeller plate. Any impeller will take a set like that once in place for a while even if the motor was not used.

Even if you put the impeller in with the vanes in the wrong direction, the vanes will turn as soon as you run the motor up.
