Float fulcrum pin

I have a Merc 1977 model 110 9.8 hp motor. I was taking the carb apart and got to the float fulcrum pin. I can not get it to budge so I thought I'd ask before I hurt anything. What do I need to do to get it out?

Yep one end is knurled. I tapped it from the non-knurled end so the knurled end is out and I thought the pin would just pull out then, but it won't. Would I just keep tapping it all the way out? The carb kit comes with a new one.

Once I got past the knurled part I just pulled them out with needle nosed pliers.

Thanks marc c. I just tapped it out of one end and was able to pull it out. It was harder than I thought it would be though.
