I've inherited a 1977 Mirrocraft 21FT that appears to be in great shape. It only has 425 hours on it. The problem I'm finding is that it is periodically spinning/slipping out of gear. Not at any particular RPM...just very random. I cut the throttle and re-engage and it's fine for a while, then it will happen again. Any thoughts??? Thanks

If the drive is a 1977 it should be an electric shift. Since it appears to random I check the 2 wire bundle that exits through the Intermediate Casing and goes down to the Lower Gear Case shorts I should have voltage running through it. Should do it as quickly as possible because if the gearcase disengages and engages right away damage can occur to the Lower Gear Box.
