Once you eliminate the impossible, What ever is left,
No matter how unlikely, Must be the problem.
Biffle do you have a link to any info on it I tried like heck to google it but no luck . The lake EZ pointed to in Va is actually not that far out its actually in the Smokies not out on the Beach side .

My bad, for a ex- truck driver i cant read a map at all.
Its in PA at the intersection of I-79and US 422.
Search for "Nealeys PA".
I was just looking for a large lake that we could cruise on and not be going in small circles. I really havent done any investagating on it yet.

Biffle take a look at the last Link EZ put up that NB refered him to its in the Smokies and looks like a nice sized lake with most amenities we could want and fairly central to everyone . The folks in Fla couldnt make it all the way to PA for a weekend outing even a long weekend.

Maaannn!, you folks got real busy on this while I was out tearin my boat up
The two lakes you folks have been talking about here in VA are both good lakes. Both have a good striper fishery, along with cats and largemouth. both have state parks that offer camping, beaches, etc. Smith mountain is much larger and has more to offer in the area of taking your money Anna is much smaller but still a fairly large lake.
Smith mountain is quite far off the beaten path and Anna is a little closer to civilization and lots of tourist attractions IE Washington, DC.
EZ, highpoint marina is the place I was talking about.
I could kinda run point on this if that's where you folks want to have a get together for a weekend but it would have to be late June 3rd or 4th week for me.
As long as its only a 3-4 day weekend Late June works for me as well. I just have to have a babysitter for my service calls which isnt a big deal just like to give him advanced warning .

Hi Gentlemen and Ladies, just my 2 cent worth. Lake Anna is a large, clean beautiful lake with Washington DC about 1- 1 and 1/2 hour drive, Richmond about 45min drive and Kings Dominion ( for wife/you and kiddies) about 30 min drive. The beach is 2 hrs east and the mountains are two hrs west. Also is Buggs Island, Lake Gaston, Smith Mountain Lake, all within 2 hr drive. I live just south of Richmond, so I've been to them all and they are all great choices. I would love to see the boats, mine is not ready yet. A 1962 18 ft Starcraft cuddy cabin. Maybe by the time we meet.......God Bless, Dale
Dale thanks for the info on Lake Anna . I think theres a small group of us who have agreed Anna sounds like a good place for the get together now we just have to get the rest online . Feel free to start a resto thread on yours in the restoration forum on the main page of the site . We love helping each other resto their boats and it helps us get to know everybody a little better .

That's great! We're getting to the point where we need to pick a weekend. We could just (arbitrarily) pick the weekend of the 26th since that's my birthday
LOL EZ mines the 7th I think I can postpone the yearly celebrations for a few weeks heck at 43 I could postpone em for a whole year if need be I am catching up with Kev . The weekend of the 26th works for me and I hve plenty of time to get my troops in order to watch over the service calls for a nice 3-5 day weekend .

Well..admittidly that would be one helluva drive..1,900 miles round trip
But the cities along the way..
Daytona Beach
Savanah
Hilton Head
Charleston
Myrtle Beach
Now if I can tie that into sales calls along the way..I can get reimbursed for dang near all of it!! lol..My region stops at NC though
If I took a week off (I get 6 a year..no haters, I never take em!)
That would be a nice long leisurely drive...
I can't commit 100%, but if ya can take a 75% deposit..Then it's a deal!
lol
LOL Good deal Kev and NC is right next door to Virginy so you wont have far to go and not get paid back for it . Now we need to find another Starcrafter down there to caravan up with you . I know Bret and I are tentatively planning to run together out there and there actually are other Starcraft owners from our area that are not as big of posters as we are that I am going to try to contact .

Brad oddly enough thats exactly the same as Kevs drive . The good news though is you could meet up with Me and Bret down here in Louisville and do the last 9 hours into the lake with us . The lake is pretty much a straight shot out 64 from here .

count me in, lake anna, 26th of june 2010. im not sure if i will be flying solo or not, my wife works for wally world and no one can take time off for inventory. usually starts end of june... but even if she cant, i'll still be there just flying solo. maybe bring my brother in law along. anyhow, if thats the case that the wife cant come, if anyone would be interested in sharing a room or campsite (whatever we decide)...
if the wife and kids come, were probably going to do a whole week, hitting dc and stuff while in the area. if not it would probably be a long weekend instead.
Would be cool to get an aerial shot of all of us doing a fly by in formation.!
omg that would be awesome!!!!!i wonder how much it would cost to hire a local ariel photographer to do a pic of all our starcrafts floating in the water..
Rick, Bret, Brad, I might become part of the convoy to Lake Anna. I am about 8 hours from Louisville.
Awaiting the evaluation/upkeep report from my '64 Merc 400 mechanic. After that it is off to the lake, I hope!
Albert
Albert thats great and your more than welcome to hook up with us here for the drive in . Depending on the number of peaple in your crew I can probably even put yall up for the night so your not trying to drive 8 hours and then another 9 hours straight .
