Help! I have an old Mercury motor that hasn't been used at all in 10 years. It hadn't been used much for 15 years before that. In other words, other than scratches it has just from age, the thing hasn't been used much, ever. However it won't start, left me stranded at the lake in 1998, ha. I was told that it had temperamental coils. Can that motor be converted to electronic ignition? Should I take that step? If not, can I get parts to fix the motor. I'm in North Louisiana/East Texas area so there are lots of boats and motor repair places here. I assume I can find someone that could do that conversion or I could try it myself.
