Transom mount transducer

When I rebuilt the transom, I took of a transducer mount that had allowed water to leak into the flotation cavity, wiping out my battery floor. I want to put it back on. How can I do that without violating the watertight integrity.

It's about a 2 1/4" x 4 1/4" footprint, to be installed toward the starboard chine so it rides in at half throttle or so, and is picked out of the lake when up on the pad. It's running a kick ***** old dual beam black and white depth sounder.

Thanks in advance
John

Re: Transom mount transducer

Here's what the original mounting holes looked like when I replaced the wet foam in the starboard stringer box. Any suggestions to prevent a repeat performance?

Just use some 3M 5200 sealant. Watertight bond! (It is a caulk, so it is easy to apply)

You can buy the fast cure which only takes about 24 hours to dry.

Fill the mounting holes and cover the screw threads with it. No such thing as to much. Can be wiped off easily later. Screw the transducer back on and let it dry.

Then go out and have some fun!
