HELP I have carb problems, I have a 1980 140 hp evinrude engine, it runs great at full speed, but at idle it coughs & sputters and it is very slow to speed up with the throttle wide open, once up to speed it runs great. Any help on how to adjust the carb if that is the problem, would be appriciated

If your engine is lean sneezing, it is probably a carb problem. You may have some dried fuel in the idle circuits of the carbs. Two carb overhaul kits and a can of aerosol carb cleaner and that may take care of it. Once disassembled, make sure the carb cleaner sprays equally through all of the carb passages. Pull the jets during overhaul and check to make sure they are clear. Have your checked the compression on the engine?
