I have a 1989 35 Hp Merc O/B with serious carb problems. The O/B was flooding and cutting off, so I put a carb kit with new needle and a float in and put it back together. The O/B ran great a first and is flooding again. The old float was full of gas and I determined that was the problem and now it is doing the same. I ensured the needle was placed in correctly. When I took it out for a test on the lake it started fine and ran but had no power and did not shut off. All of sudden it was flooding again and pouring gas out the neck of the carb. Does anyone have suggestions. Are there adjustments I need to do with the jets or just redue what I have done. Is there a possibilty the carb is getting to much gas to it and how do I regulate the gas flow to the carb?
