I have the following problem with my Merc:
When I crank the engine it starts immediately but it is hard to adjust idle speed and it runs very rough.
Now I tried to test the ignition wire and I found that when I pull the the wire from the center of the ignition coil and hold it about one inch from the ignition coil (the spark jumps over) the engine runs smooth. Same works when I pull the wire off the center of the distributor cap and hold it that the spark can jump over between wire and distributor cap. When I plug the wire into the fittings it runs rough again. All components are new (wires, cap, rotor, etc.).
What's the problem with my engine???
