25 hours on New Old stock 4 stroke EFI 50 hp motor. Idiot Dealer gave me two quarts for 20 hr service for crank case. (Three are required). Dip stick indicates right at "add" mark, but not below. Power has been very low last couple of trips, right after oil change. No audible alarms. So I think motor is in Guardian mode and restricting me to 50% power. Probably due to low oil level. I seem to be able to achieve 4,000 rpm, but feels like half power.

Monday, I will add the other quart of oil, and replace the water pump. I'll have a spare, and I checked the thermostat, it opens in hot tap water.

I bought the official Mercury shop manual, which is not much help unless you have the diagnostic computer.

Does not Guardian mode always signal with audible alarms? for low oil level, and low water pressure? Is the water pressure sender the same one as the water temperature sender, or is the water pressure sender an accessory that screws in to the thermostat housing?
