Hi.. New to boating and new to this forum. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. A friend gave me a boat with a 35HP 1968 Mercury 350 outboard. This winter he left it outside, it got some water in the prop, froze, and cracked the housing. He tried to fix if with J-BWeld. I took it out this morning and the engine ran great! Unfortunately, the bond only lasted for about 15 minutes. Can the lower unit be welded, or do I need to buy a new lower unit?
