Eveinrude xp 150 only run with choke button depressed

Fellas, new to the forum here. Have an xp 150 that will only run with choke button on throttle controls depressed, was running perfect ,went to lake and wouldn't start however if you hold button in it runs exellent. Any ideas?

Remove a drain screw for one of the carburetor float chambers to see if fuel actually gains access to the carburetors.

If fuel is present, your explanation indicates fouled carburetors...... fuel is gaining access to the carburetors and primer solenoid BUT cannot flow past the high speed jets within the carburetors or to/thru the related fuel passageways.

Remove, clean, and rebuild the carburetors.
