Hello i have 1989 4Wings 195 boat. I was looking for the boat you unscrew for the prop and i accedently unscrewed a bolt that have a nut on the other side and the nut dropped in were the gear oil is, this is my first boat and wasnt aware of the nut being there/ not being tacked. so what do i have to do to fix this, can i just leave the nut in there or will it get in the gears for the prop, help please!! thank you!

Not familiar with your boat/motor but I can't see how you could mistake what nut to remove for the prop. Don't know what bolt you are referring to that would have an unsecured nut on the back side. In any case, in my opinion, you must get that nut out if it ended up in the gearcase. What size bolt was it?

Re: Help Please!!

My friend, I think a manual would be a good start. To try to explain that would take up a lot of time.

If this is an I/O drive then you would get better advise in the I/O section. Perhaps a moderator can move this for you.

I think you are confused about the proper terms. You are certainly confusing me :D. I have no idea what you are describing. A picture would be a really good idea.

If there"s room, try using a long mechanics magnet. Some times its along metel rod, sometimes a long spring with magnet on end. You can get one at Harbor Freight for about 4 dollars. Fish out the nut/bolt that way.

1989 195 Freedom fourwinns is most likely what he has with the cobra outdrive. he unscrewed the screw on the side of the outdrive above the vent fill screw for the lower unit lube that should have the cobra badge covering it.

the out drive will have to come apart to get it out and put it back on.
