Sealant needed on Bottom unit?

I've replaced the impeller on my '79 7.5 outboard and am wondering if I need to apply a sealant when I put the lower unit back on the engine?

There was no gasket when I disassembled it. I have a Clymers manual but it doesn't say? Any help appreciated.

Nope, just bolt her back up making sure the water tube is hooked up correctly
