2003 Johnson 150 60 deg (twins)
I had starboard engine overheat, blow head o-rings and fill powerhead with sea water. For some reason no alarm or slow mode. Port engine has very weak stream from tell-tale.
Dealer says damage was caused by sandbar in unmarked channel that I found.
Insurance company marine surveyor says overheating means bad water pump.
Complete water pump kits installed two months prior as p.m.
Question 1: How does a block fill with sea water without functioning water pump?
Question 2: Since the port and starboard engines developed these problems simultaneously, in your opinion, does the dealer diagnosis sound reasonable?
Also: video taken minutes prior to accident show both tell-tales putting out full stream
Any questions I might ask insurance guy would help!
