88 Yamaha 70ETLG - No power to multifunction LCD gauge/meter

Hello all,

I have a 1988 Yamaha 70ETLG with a malfuntioning LCD multifunction gauge/meter (with tach, tilt, and oil) that appears to have no power. The gauge did work after I took my boat out of winter hiberbnation, but stopped working since. I get absolutely no readout on the gauge at all.

I removed the gauge from the console and used a test light to check for power to all wires coming into the gauge. The only wire with power was green/red which I believe was the tach sending wire.

I have not yet taken apart the control box to check for corrosion. I did notice that my key can be removed from the control box in any position. I'm wondering if that might be problematic?

I do have the original owner's manual & wiring diagrams, but I'm not sure where to begin troubleshooting.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!!!

After tracing wires all day long, I finally found the culprit. 2 bad connections on the yellow wires within 2 feet of the gauge...

Problem solved.
