My Momma told me "never stand up in the boat"
That is true, at least when the engine is running.
I used to be the Waterfront Manager of a pretty big Yacht Club. Had 200 boats on moorings.
Used to see this guy who loved to stand up in his 10 foot skimmer dinghy with a 4 J-Rude on her....Standing with the tiller extension in one hand and his fishing rod in the other.
One night he lost control or hit a long and went in asp over tea kettle.
He went over and took the prop to the groin and did some real damage to his under carriage. The licensed, CPR & First aid certified night watchman under my employ, saved his life.
The security guard had to rescue him and call the professionals to bring him to the hospital. His PFD saved his life and not his other parts.
