It is a long and gory story but the gist is I borrowed my father-in-laws board and motor and now need to find a lower motor cover (o433392) for less than what I have foudn them. It is off a E25RWLCTE which is a 1983 25 horse evinrdue manual start.
Does anyone know where I can find an outboard junkyard? I have found the part on line but it is around $400!
What other years would share the same part? I appreicate al help!!
Thanks!

(Unfortunately it runs great and he uses it very little so he likely would pass away before it needs a new motor.)

The part you need is called the "lower pan". I checked ebay and didn't see anything.
I have a 2-3 pans that might work. If I get a chance I will list one on ebay.
I don't who is charging $400. You can usually get them off ebay for $10-$50.

Re: Please help finding lower motor cover for Evinrude 25 horse

I got a Garmin for Fathers Day and opened it up during a campout 300 miles from home. First time I used it was to go home and we selected "quickest route." Long story short you need to be sure that you EXCLUDE un-paved roads. We ended up going up a road called Loop Loop Ridge road. I could touch the cliff face on my side through the window and my wife could see 200 or so feet down out her windo. She if TERIFIED of hieghts. It was all she could do not to break down sobbing and my 7 year old daughter was complaining the whole time and asking if everything was ok. Had she realized how scared my wife was it would have been a comlete disaster.
So as we are climbing this cliff, seriously 10% grade my wife happens to see the motor fall off the boat!
I would have turned around if there was any way to but the only thing I might have been able to do was toss the boat off the cliff and then back down but really other than my wife being terified, no exageration, and the trip taking longer than it needed had the motor not fallen off it would have been fine.

You will have to remove the powerhead to replace that lower cover. Just be very careful to use the proper screwdriver and sockets and go slow so you don't break any bolts off. I don't have a manual.
You're a good son-in-law for fixing that motor (like you should do). Lot's of spoiled brats today would just tell the sob story to pops-in-law and forget about it.
good luck----it's not that bad of a job---just time-consuming.

Yeah, I am a scoutmaster and am appalled at how the kids behave. At that age my father would have beaten me silly for what these guys do all the time.
I HATE borrowing stuff. If it were my engine it wouldn't be that big of deal but its not, it has been good in that my wife recognized why it is that I generally buy what I need rather than borrowing and means I can probably get a boat in the not to distant future. :)
