I was recantly told that you can change the gear ratio of sterndrives and was wondering if this is tru. I have a Alpha one, and I am not 100% sure what the factory gear ratio is, but I know it hasnt been changed from its factory setting. From the little time I have had to look in to this it seems that I am prtty close to a reduction of 1/2 the RPM of the moter. Has any one changed the gear ratio of their stern drive, how hard is it and what kind of resaults did you get. I would like to pick up another 5-10 mph And I have already done what I can as far as the prop. Thanks!
