Hi Folks,

First let me say this is a great forum. While using a screwdriver to replace the throttle cable on my Tracker last week, I noticed a small spark. So for the heck of it, we checked to see if the hull was grounded and we were amazed to see that the hull is at +12 vdc!!!! Is this normal, or do we have a problem in the wiring?

Thanks in advance

that is not normal. boat wiring is grounded at the battery not the hull. if you bought it used the previous owner probably grounded the wiring the to the hull. get that fixed before you go back out on the water. it could also be a short. that is an electrical hazard. water in the wrong spot and you can get a good shock. it will also cause your aluminum hull to start eating away to electrolysis.
