New to boats

Hello all,

I have just bought a used ebbtide boat with an evinrude 120 hp engine. The box that has the levy on it to push forward to go and backwards to reverse started a constant beep. Does anyone know what it might be? The engnine starts right up and runs fine with no problems at all. Boat runs great. Just that annoying constant non stop beep. This is a 1989 ebbtide boat with an evinrude 120. Thanks.
