i recently baught a speedboat with a suzuki dt 65hp outboard on it. ive taken it out once and the insides of the remote/throtle lever box has broken. a piece of the aluminium gearing inside. ive tried to weld a new piece back on but without any luck. It is beyond repair. ive tied everywhere to my knowlage to find a new whole box and tried to find the actual piece that has broken, but i cant find any???!!! im totaly stuck. it is a suzuki DT65 and its and old one 1980-84. its the one with the throtle lever and a little lever for revs (cold start, i think). My question is...... will any other remote control box set up do for this outboard? will another suzuki one work for me? will a yamaha work for me? or any information you can give me i would be extreemly grateful. Please help me im at a loose end and its driving me nutts. thank you. steve.
