how do i remove the cable so i can slide the bellows over it.
thru the exhaust port i see a s.s. rod with an arm at the top and at the end of the arm is a roller.
this sets in a raised section on top of a aluminum long rectangular piece and the shift cable runs into it.
the outward end of this rectangular piece looks like it has a set screw in it that is safety wired.
were do i go from here????
hyd. lines went fine and i see no trouble replacing the driveshaft and exhaust bellows.
the shift cable seems to be another thing, help and thanks.
by the manual it says tighten the screw and then back off 1/4 turn.
is this the screw they are speaking of at the outboard end of the shift fork??

The cable is removed first to replace the shift bellow,
Go to the adults only section and download the manual for your drive.Depending if you have the old type or new type manual 6 should give you the information on changing the cable.

i have the manual and i see the page of the shifting slide but it does not specifically say if that is the screw.
that's the only screw i see on the slide so it must be "i'm assuming?".

Look up "shift cable installation". you can either remove the gimbal housing and install the cable or remove the cable from the housing.

don't need to remove the gimbal.
hyd. and bellows are a piece of cake.
all but the shift one and that looks like it should be also.
i have an idea on a redesigned shift bellows, may just do that and see.
believe it or not i once was instrumental in writing a chiltons maual on how to set up a steel mill and light/operate a reheat furnace.
i'm not getting diddly out of this manual.
could be me however as i'm feeling a little short right now.
hey, thanks for any help.

nope not me it is the manual, not specific enough.
found detailed pictures and now it makes sense.
going to hold off, have a new cable coming.
old one not bad but what the heck.
new hyd. lines, cyls., bushings, impeller kit, should do it.
gimbal bearing feels perfect, smooth as silk.
do have a new one for future.
aligning tool shows engine down in front just a touch.
probably because new laminated engine mount base.
some day this boat is actually going to get wet.

got a hard top for my triumph spitfire today also, so happy i could fart!
rust free 73 added racing seats, 4 point harness, 2" side pipes and header.
with in and out on same side of head it's perfect for small turbo, that's next.

there coming to take me away a ha, there coming to take me away.
to the funny farm were life's a hoot and all we do is throw our poop a ha.:D
