I have a "newly" rebuilt 290 DP that was installed professionally last year. Trying in vain to get it in the water this year and down to the last problem. The drive will trim up, all the way up, but will not go down.
I've tested the switch, that appears to be working fine.
Checked the hydraulic fluid tank. Filled properly, no leaks.
The cylinder and piston are functioning when moving up with no obvious obstructions.
If I leave it up for a long enough period of time, it comes down on its own.
Any thoughts on troubleshooting? My guess is the motor is bad but I'd like to know before I go about removing and replacing.
Thanks
