need info on Evinrude 1993, 40 hp, pt&t unit and wiring to new guage. i've located sender and wires from sender. i wired it as per instructions, but guage reads either totally up or down depending on wiring diagram. when i manually move sending unit, nothing happens. i do have the ignition in the on position. is there a simple test i can do to check the sender. also the two wires from the sender are white/gold and black/brown. thanks Limey60
