Default Yamaha 40HP Battery lead connection

Hi,

I have a pair of Early 1990s Yamaha 40 2 strokes, (40 HET0). I've just fitted them to my dive rib and need to connect the Battery leads. It looks like they connect to the starter motor, one on the starter motor housing and another on the block, where the starter bolts on.

Does anyone know if this is correct, and, if so, which is the positive/negative?

Thanks in advance.

Positive should be the big fat wire on teh back of the starter... other wire is grounding to the block
just hook up the positive wire and you should be good to go, well through a switch obviously other than that it sounds like it should be good

Thanks for the reply. that sounds good. I've been told by someone else that the positive usially goes to the starter and neg to the block, so I'll give it a go tomorrow, if it's dry!

Thanks.
