I just saw Stabil has an ethanol treatment that they call 'Marine Formula'.
I have heard recently that since most gasoline has ethanol in it (whether you know it or not), the potential is there for motor damage caused by fuel deteriorating rubber fuel lines, diaphragms, etc. If ethanol is so bad for your motor, you would think that there would also be a lot of problems in the auto industry as well. My assumption is that these issues would mostly apply for OLD gas left to sit in a tank and motor in infrequent use, and not for fresh gas in a more frequently used motor. Is this marine version just something to prey on the fears of the consumer by making him think he needs it? Any opinions on this?
