I would like to know if anyone offers a shorter shaft for this engine. It is a
25" shaft now I would like it to be a 20" shaft. I am hoping i can just pull the shaft, measure length and count splines. Well I am hopeful. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone offer a shorter shaft?

ebay.

The driveshaft, water tube, and shift rod will need to be changed out, and the spacer kit will need to be removed.

Mercury has the driveshaft for $550 and the shift rods for $70.

OR: For that kind of money, you can buy a used power jackplate and raise the engine on the 20 inch transom you have. OR. Build your own solid jackplate to raise the transom 5 inches.---way cheaper. See other forums for instructions on raising a transom.

Thanks I have a set of manual jack plates but was concerned the top hieght weight would be too much. I will use them and adjust as required. Thanks again.
