I tried starting my 78 evinrude up with old fuel without luck. I want to siphon the tank today, but how would I get the fuel thats already in the engine out so I can feed her some fresh gas?

-thanks in advance.

Take the drain plugs out of the float bowls and squeeze the primer bulb. Put some rags under the carbs to catch the fuel. Then take the spark plugs out and ground them to the block and crank the engine a few turns.

Thanks for the reply.

If I dont end up doing it today, it wont hurt to leave it in for a few days, will it?

A few days won't make any difference unless there is water in the old gas.
