Can a ford 302 with volve penta be swapped for a GM350.

Hello all,


I just noticed that my oil is milky after running the engine for 10 min with a hose adapter. I saw an oportunity for a GM350 that was with a Alpha one and I was wondering if its worth the trouble. I know is more HP but do I have to replace more than just the engine to make the new setup work.

I currently have a sea ray 1985 with a ford 302 and a volvo penta

new engine is totally complete Mercruiser 1986 GM350 was with an Apha One.


Any thoughts... Price on new engine is killer under 1k.

right off the bat you are gonna have bellhousing and exhaust issues, probably coupler too. But I'd look for some replies from people more experienced with V/P than I have.

Volvo used the 302 (AQ190) from 76 and 77 only. Not in 85. So what model engine and drive is in it. You may have the newer 5.0L Ford used by Volvo in 94 thru 97, if it was repowered by a previous owner, but you would then have the newer SX style outdrive.
