Mercury 1150 With With Broken Shifter Cam Ear

I Broke The Ear / Boss Or The Casted Piece That Holds The Shifter Cam In Place In The Lower Unit. Is There Some Type Of Repair Kit For This Or A Patch That Will Fix This Problem With Out Replacing The Housing?

Hi,
Bummer. There is none that I know of.
I would dill a hole and tap it. Then run a screw/bolt in untill
it was holding th cam in place. I would lock it in place with epoxy.
Or you could try to epoxy the AL piece back in place. One problem you will have is that the Al will have absorbed oil so the epoxy will not stick well
unless it is sand basted clean. Even then it may not be a long term fix.
A different housing is the best fix.
